Principle of operation

TOP VORTEX is a submersible electric pump designed for automatic operation. The principle of operation is similar to that of centrifugal pumps with retracted impeller, type "VORTEX". Through the suction grate, the liquid enters a spacious annular chamber, closed by a lid, equipped with a discharge pipe. In this chamber, where the impeller is retracted relative to the cover, in which the suction water acquires a vortex motion and, under the action of centrifugal force, is directed to the annular chamber, from where it leaves the pump through a vertically mounted supply pipe provided in the discharge casing. Proper engine cooling is provided by the pumped liquid.

Scope and installation

The TOP VORTEX electric pump is recommended for lifting polluted waters and chemically non-aggressive liquids. The design solutions used ensure ease of operation and safety even during continuous operation, thanks to the complete cooling of the engine.
This pump is particularly suitable for domestic use, for lifting contaminated water with suspended solids up to 20 mm in size. They find their application in draining swimming pools and bathtubs, domestic drains and small sewer sumps.

Structural characteristics:

• Discharge body made of technopolymer, with fiberglass reinforcing insert, particularly resistant to mechanical stress, impact and corrosion, equipped with a vertically positioned 1 1/4" discharge nozzle with UNI 338 gas pipe thread.
• The technopolymer suction grille, with a fiberglass reinforcing insert, is the supporting base of the electric pump.
• Removable hose coupling, made of technopolymer.
• Open type impeller in Noryl GFN2V "General Electric" technopolymer.
• External float (with built-in switch) for automatic start and stop of the pump.
• Drive shaft in AISI 416 stainless steel.
• Double carbon/aluminium mechanical seal on the pump side and O-ring on the motor side (with an oil shut-off chamber placed between them to lubricate and cool the seal surface in the absence of water).
• Motor: inductive, closed type, suitable for continuous operation, with built-in thermal protection device (emergency switch). Insulation class F (allows you to withstand significant loads and increases its durability).
• Degree of protection IP 68.
• Submersible power cable, neoprene "H05-RN-F". Standard equipment 5 m with SCHUKO plug (on request 10 m).
• Execution and safety regulations in accordance with EN60 335-1 (IEC 335-1, CEI 61 50) IEC 34 standards.
  The characteristics of the curves in the table have tolerances according to ISO 2548.
