Electric actuator with capacitor return for Belimo AVK globe valves
Application
Saddle valve control.
Principle of operation
The actuator is controlled by a standard 3-point signal or signal 0...10 V and moves the valve stem to the position corresponding to the control signal . At the same time, the built-in capacitor is charged. When the power is turned off, the rod moves to a preset security position (POP - power-off-position, adjustable in the range of 0 ... 100%) due to the energy stored in the capacitor.
Pre-charge time
A capacitor return drive needs a certain amount of time to charge the capacitor. In order for the actuator to move the valve stem from the current position to the preset guard position when the power is turned off. The precharge time depends on how long the drive has been without power.
Terms of delivery (capacitor)
The actuator is shipped from the factory in a fully discharged state. The time for charging the capacitor to the nominal level is 20 s.
Features of electric drives
- Easy installation. The actuator is easily attached to the valve neck using a special clamp. The valve stem automatically connects to the actuator stem. The actuator can be mounted on the valve neck in any position.
- High reliability. The drive is protected against short circuits and reverse polarity.
- Manual operation: by means of a 5 mm hex wrench while pressing the button on the actuator housing. When power is applied, the actuator stem will return to the position corresponding to the control signal.
Position indication
The actuator stem indicates valve position by a mechanical indicator on the mounting bracket.
